Creativity is > art supplies and Pinterest project
If you know me in real life, you will not be surprised by that fact that I love, love, love a good art store. The smell of oil paints, canvases, wood panels, brand new brushes, and fresh sheets of any and every kind of paper are so dreamy to me. They get me thinking about beauty and potential and endless possibility. I just love everything about all of those things and, you can be certain, I'll be talking about them here; but, when I say that we are going to dive into creativity I'm talking about much more than art supplies and Pinterest projects. I'm talking about the unique ways that each of us were made to see the world and engage with it.
When I think about creativity, I think about outside the box community life. I think about parenting, not with a formula but with a creative spirit - connecting uniquely with each child and staying tuned into the Holy Spirit. I think about how I am wired as a person and how the Lord could use that to bless our neighbors in ways that might not occur to someone else. I think about a life of intentionality and presence, uniquely relating and responding to the world around us rather than just going through the motions.
I could go on and on and on about all the different ways creativity can show up in our lives... and I will, a little bit at a time.
If you think you aren't creative and that this section of our site won't apply to you, I promise there will be something here for you, even if you have no desire to ever hold a paint brush in your hand! We are ALL image-bearers of the Creator, after all.
