Explore Nashville: Strawberry Picking
It's so important to shake things up sometimes and do something new as a family. This Sunday morning our schedule was clear, and while we could easily have filled our time with chores or grocery shopping, we felt the need to get out and explore! We decided to explore a local farm and do some STRAWBERRY PICKING!!! 🍓🍓🍓🍓
When we asked our 2 year old if he wanted to go pick strawberries, his immediate response was, "In the enchanted garden?!?!" He's a big Daniel Tiger (kids tv show) fan and loves the episode about picking fruit in the enchanted garden! (If you have a little one, it might be fun to show this to them before or after going!)
We headed out to Green Door Gourmet. It was $5 per person. (No charge for the little guy!) Then $2 a lb. for whatever you pick, which felt reasonable to me.
They have a cute little playground that kept our buddy entertained (with his dad) while I perused their shop, which is filled with veggies from the farm, jams made from farm produce, and lots of locally made food and products.
This is the last week of the season, if you are local, check it out. If not, find a farm in your area - whether it's strawberries or not! It's so great to see where your food is coming from, and to teach your kids a little about the process.
